The Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra presents Home for the Holidays!
This year’s LSO holiday concert will be performed on December 9, at 4 p.m., in the newly restored Academy Center of the Arts Historic Theatre. Experience the LSO’s inaugural concert and feel the warmth of home and community as soloists, and adult and children’s choirs usher in the holiday season. The Blue Ridge and James River Chapters of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, in cooperation with the Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, are proud to sponsor the 11th Wreaths Across America Ceremony on Saturday, December 15, at 12:00 Noon.

Please arrive early as the cemetery gates close promptly at 11:45 a.m. This moving ceremony honors all veterans and those who have served and sacrificed their lives to keep our nation free. This is a rain or shine event and there is no charge to attend. At the end of our program, attendees will be invited to participate by placing fresh evergreen wreaths on the graves of the fallen. For more information, please visit gravegarden.org.

Central Virginia Business Coalition Announces Holiday Events
What could be better than ONE parade? Two parades and a Tree Lighting Ceremony! The Central Virginia Business Coalition (formerly Retail Merchants Association) is pleased to offer multiple activities to kick off the holiday season. CVBC has added the Bedford Christmas Parade to our repertoire of events. Don’t miss the excitement as we prepare for this magical season!

  • Bedford’s Christmas Parade, “Ring in the Holidays,” will be held in Downtown Bedford on Saturday, December 1 at 11 am. This parade is sponsored by Nadine Blakely, Realtor. For an application and route information, contact Dianne Erb at (540) 587-6023.
  • Town of Bedford Tree Lighting Ceremony, hosted by DJ Showtime, Status Barber Shop and the Central Virginia Business Coalition will also take place on Saturday December 1 from 5–8 PM. Join us as Centertown Bedford is transformed and the Lighting of the Tree will take place, along with Carriage Rides, Vendors, a Window Decorating Contest, Carolers, Cocoa Bar and of course SANTA!
  • Lynchburg’s Parade, “Home for the Holidays,” will be held on Sunday, December 2 at 4:00 pm. This parade is sponsored by FOX WXFR News and Nadine Blakely, Realtor. The parade will step off from Lynchburg City Stadium and proceed down Memorial Avenue to E. C. Holiday Craft Fair
Jefferson Choral Society will host a Holiday Craft Fair Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 9 am until 2 pm at Moose Lodge 715 at 2307 Lakeside Drive in Lynchburg. Artwork, crafts, jewelry, baked goods and Christmas decorations by local artists and artisans will be for sale.
